I’m a multi-decade practioner of business systems that help entrepreneurs, business owners and managers solve complex business problems to become:

I’ve formed the Making Business Better community based on a set of Fundamental Principles and Practical Business Frameworks that I’ve developed, refined, and applied over a diverse career spanning several decades.

Fundamental Principles

These Fundamental Principles underpin all of our work and are used to establish a mindset of Growth, and Improvement.

Each principle builds on the previous to mature a Business Mindset within, Leaders, Managers, and the Workforce, to influence the Culture of the Organization.

Business can Always be Better

This principle establishes a mindest that “better” is relative and is applicable to the Customers, the Business, and all on the individuals involved.

The MBB Business Frameworks are based on a Customer First approach while respecting the capability and needs of the business, the employees, and stakeholders.

Strategy Drives Business

A business cannot sustain improvement without a strategy.
This principle establishes the importance of understanding the current state and desired direction of the business. Further, the strategy must be communicated, understood, executed, and measured to drive continual improvements.

The MBB framework of Continual Strategic Improvement (f_CSI) can be applied and scaled from pre-Startup to large mature organizations.

Process Manages Work

The Process View of Work establishes a systems approach to business and enables disciplined problem Solving to deliver the strategies of the organization. The process view establishes that all work of the organization can be described as a system of processes, organized to add value to the customer.

Accept that all work in a business is part of a system of processes, and all businesses face problems from inception through maturity. The ability to understand problems and apply disciplined problem-solving to accomplish sustainable solutions is a measure of success.

Focus on Excellence

An organization can only approach excellence when the culture respects and embraces the complex system of relationships, and standards.

The MBB framework of Quality Principles and Excellence (f_QPX) establishes the Quality Standards of the business. Application of the f_QPX is used to mature the capability, and capacity of the organization to achieve Organizational Excellence.
